Speaker 1:

So many of us want to make an impact in the world, to spend our short time here on this planet doing something that is meaningful, to create a legacy, be remembered for something, to make a difference. But so often, in our quest to leave our mark on the world, we cease to slow down long enough to lead a remarkable life, going so quickly through today that we leave no space or time to behold what is in front of us. I know that I am hardwired to make a capital. I impact in the world and I have a vision of what that might look like and what gifts and talents I might use to move in that direction. But it occurs to me that it's the little everyday impacts that really make a difference Saying hello to a stranger, trying something new, engaging in all aspects of life, noticing, you know, living a remarkable life is available to all of us in every moment of every day, no matter what we are trying to accomplish in our lifetimes. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word remarkable is an adjective defined as worthy of being or likely to be noticed. Noticing quite literally means to see or become conscious of something or someone, and it is in that awareness that we have a chance. We have a chance to make little impacts everywhere along the way. I like to call it compound interest.

Speaker 1:

The more you take interest in others, the more value you bring to your own life and theirs and the legacy that you are so eagerly trying to build. Think about it How much time do you spend focusing on the future or trying to change the past? Or how often do you find yourself on autopilot going from one place to the next? Do you have any idea how much living legacy potential there is in those lost moments because of our failure to exist in the here and now? And it's so simple Smiling at someone as you pass by or saying hello to a stranger. It can change the trajectory of their lives forever, and most of the time we won't even know we've done it. But if we are consciously engaging in our world, we can realize that there is little impact to be made everywhere, and sometimes just slowing down long enough to take that interest in what someone is doing can make all the difference.

Speaker 1:

Listen, it's easy, i know It's easy to get swept up by passion or consumed by a cause, or to spend your days searching for your purpose. Each and every one of us has the opportunity to spend our short time here on this planet doing something that is meaningful, to create a legacy to be remembered, for something to make a difference every day. So go out, my friends, and live that remarkable life in every moment. Surprise yourself, notice and engage. Don't save it for tomorrow. Just in it today, compound your interest, pay attention and embrace what's here right now. I'm Lisa Hopkins. Thanks so much for listening. Stay safe and healthy And remember to live in the moment.
