Lisa Hopkins:

Hey there. So we're going to do a meditation right now. That is, around the distinction between excitement and stress. It's interesting because excitement and stress, excitement and fear they create the same physical sensations in our body and sometimes, even when we're really anticipating something really wonderful as I am in this moment it can be stressful, and so it's a great exercise just to tap into our energy and let go of any extra excited energy that we might be holding on to, so that we can tap into savoring, to centering, to being in the moment and enjoying. You know, when we've been anticipating something wonderful for a really long time, there can be a lot of energy spent in hope, in wondering, in expecting, in imagining, and these are all beautiful things. But it's a really important reminder to realize that the future hasn't happened yet and when the moment comes, the best way to enjoy it is to be in it. So I'm hoping that this little brief meditation will help you zoom out a little bit and then zoom right back in to what's truly important. So find yourself somewhere quiet and comfortable to sit or lie, and with your body resting comfortably. When you're ready, just allow the eyes to gently shut or lower your gaze and simply connect with the breath.

Lisa Hopkins:

The resistance that you may or may not feel in this moment is exactly what I was speaking of that excited, hyped energy Trying to make things right, trying to finish one last detail, trying to make everything perfect. I promise you, my friends, that everything is perfect just the way it is. Let that hyperkinetic energy go and we're going to do a very deep inhale in on 4, 3, 2, 1. And we're going to hold it at the top and now let it go Until you cannot exhale any further. Take a new deep breath now and fill up your belly and, as you do this, allow it to come up through your body like an internal air massage. It comes through you and it even rolls your shoulders back, ah, ah.

Lisa Hopkins:

Focusing only on your breathing now and the joyous truth that, in order to enjoy anything, we must be present in our breath, take a few more breaths here and, as you start to settle in, I want you to bring to mind the thoughts or situation that you've identified as exciting right now. I want you to identify something that could actually be an expansive moment if you could identify the anticipatory stress that is associated with looking forward to this. I want you to be honest with yourself and to breathe in any expectations or attachment you may have to the outcome and, on the exhale, simply let them go, trusting the process, knowing that everything will happen as it is supposed, as your breath continues to circulate in this, knowing you feel a sense of relief, emotion and freedom. Placing your hands over your heart, now allow yourself to know that everything is as it should be, feel the sense of warmth envelop you, feel it surround you and hold you circulating positive energy, unattached and connected to now. You know that you are supported in this moment because you have tapped into you. You will enjoy every moment as it comes and find magic beyond your wildest assumptions or hopes or dreams, simply by being in the moment and breathing.

Lisa Hopkins:

I want you to slowly begin to guide yourself back from this meditation. Begin to ground your energy into the physical space that you're in, feeling the weight of your body on your seat or bed, bringing gentle movement to your fingers and toes, maybe even wrapping your arms around yourself and giving yourself a great big hug. This is all you need. You have everything you need. Anything else is just the cherry on top. You are expansive and free. Take a nice deep breath, smiling and exhaling, allowing your eyes to open whenever you feel ready, guiding yourself back. Notice how much checking in with yourself has supported you to enjoy and savor every moment. You can return to this process anytime, just by slowing down. We often forget, when things are good, that they can also be very stressful. So enjoy your life, enjoy these moments and embrace them with open arms and open heart. My friends, welcome back you, beautiful, loving, kind-hearted soul, wishing you so much love from my heart to yours. May every moment be filled with peace. Namaste.
