What if the key to unlocking endless creative possibilities is to let go of hope? This episode challenges the conventional wisdom that hope is a necessity for a fulfilling life. Hope often distracts us from the present and binds us to limiting expectations. We explore how clinging to hope can narrow our perspective, making it difficult to see the abundance of opportunities around us. Discover how embracing the present can transform your outlook, allowing you to appreciate the here and now fully.

Join me on a thought-provoking journey as I explain why we are the light that illuminates our path, not some distant beacon of hope. By letting go of the endless pursuit of an imagined better future, we free ourselves to recognize the possibilities that exist right in front of us. Tune in to learn how living in the moment can enrich your life, fostering a mindset teeming with creativity and potential. Remember, the light shines from within usβ€”guiding our way and revealing the endless opportunities around us.

Lisa Hopkins:

Hey there, there is no better way to live a life of creative possibilities than to let go of hope. I know that's counterintuitive, so I'm going to say it again there is no better way to live a life of creative possibilities than to let go of hope. Possibilities than to let go of hope. Hope is the definition of not living in the moment. It's hope that keeps us from seeing the endless possibilities all around us right now and tethers us to expectations Expectations we have for ourselves, expectations we have for the future and for others. Hope invites comparison and implies that things aren't good right here, right now.

Lisa Hopkins:

When we hang on to hope, like we so often do, we become tied to the endless pursuit of when, into moving through or past now to an imaginary later time, a supposed better place, dismissing or entirely overlooking now in the belief that things will be better someplace else and that when we get there we'll somehow be healthier, we'll somehow be richer, we'll somehow be happier. Hope narrows our perspective to tunnel vision. Tunnel vision is defined as defective sight, in which objects cannot be properly seen if not close to the center of the field of view. The tendency to focus exclusively on a single or limited goal or point of view, Hope, the veritable light at the end of the tunnel. But we are the light, my friends. The light shines from within us and guides our way and illuminates the possibilities that are all around us right now.

Lisa Hopkins:

I truly believe that life is full of possibilities, and possibilities are not something you hope will come your way like luck or good fortune. Possibilities exist everywhere if you are open to them. I'm Lisa Hopkins. Thanks so much for listening. Stay safe and healthy, everyone, and remember to live in the moment.
