It's time to own our good fortune. Why, when things are going well for us, do we so often attribute it to luck? I can't believe this is happening to me. We say, when things are happening to us, or it's too good to be true, waiting for the other shoe to drop. So what is it about what's happening that you can't believe exactly? To not believe is defined in the dictionary as being astounded by something. What is so astounding about what you have achieved? What is so astounding about your success? What is so astounding about things going your way? Why is it too good to be true? Why is it too good to be true?
Speaker 1:There's a distinction to be made here between true and truth. I hold that true is objective. It's verifiable, backed by evidence. Ps. If it happened to you, it's true. Truth, on the other hand, is subjective and attached to whatever story we have invested our beliefs in and our opinions in, often limiting beliefs, such as good things never happen to me. I'm too old to be given another chance. Everyone else deserves it more than I do. Well, if that is your truth, then of course you would find it too good to be true when something goes your way.
Speaker 1:But despite what we may believe. By not claiming it, we aren't deferring some revocable good fortune or miracle. Take back of what we've received. Sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop when things going well is fear, and if we allow ourselves to be bullied by fear instead of building upon the momentum of the moment, we hand our power over to the notion that we had nothing to do with it, that it was lucky and somehow it just happened to us, like winning the lottery and then being afraid of spending the money. We are playing the victim and diminishing our accomplishments. The irony is that when we think this way and are experiencing abundance, we're actually living in scarcity.
Speaker 1:If we question why it's happening, it's vital to recognize that this is not happening to us, but that we created it. You created it, and that goes for all the BS that we complain about too. We create our own truth and we make our own opportunities. Why not move through the world intentionally, through your actions, rather than being limited by the stories that you tell yourself? If we stop long enough to recognize our value and our values and to appreciate what is actually true, then, and only then, do we become open to the infinite possibilities that the universe offers us in every moment, but it's up to us to cultivate the awareness and the agency to follow through instead of being astounded when things unfold. Instead of being astounded when things unfold. It's a gift from the universe, yes, but one that you helped create. Be grateful, but no, it wasn't a coincidence, it was a co-creation.
