STOPTIME: Live in the Moment.
Is Your Life Force Energy Illuminating or Overwhelming?
Let us know what you enjoy about the show!
Can our life force energy, meant to nurture and uplift, sometimes overshadow the very people we aim to support? I recently had this revelation with my therapist, who pointed out that my vibrant energy might actually make it challenging for others around me to find their own. This episode invites you to join me, Lisa Hopkins, as we explore the delicate balance of sharing our light without overwhelming those we love. Reflecting on the journey of motherhood, we ponder the paradox of giving life while ensuring our childrenโand ourselvesโcan thrive independently and shine in their own right.
Together, we confront the complex challenge of releasing control and truly living in the moment. How can we hold space for our loved ones to discover their unique light without dimming their brilliance with our own? By embracing the transformative power of self-reflection and genuine connection to what is vital, we ignite a conversation on fostering growth and cherishing the present. Allow this episode to inspire you to question where your energy might illuminate or overwhelm, and consider how to support others in finding their own path. Join us in this heartfelt exploration and remember to live in the moment.

Hey there. So my therapist recently told me that I have a tremendous life force energy and that it may be difficult for others around me to find their own. The notion that our positive life force energy might actually inhibit the ones we love is daunting, might actually inhibit the ones we love is daunting. As mothers, we literally give life to our children, born out of labor but raised with love. I think it's safe to say that mothers everywhere, whether from birth or adopted, never intend to use their life force energy for anything other than good, and so we uplift, support and celebrate the incredible forces of nature that are our children. But they aren't our children. They belong to the universe. They belong to the universe.
Speaker 1:It's so natural for us to share our light wholeheartedly, to warm and protect the ones we love, yeah, but also to shine light on their own brilliance, which I know, for me at least, is always so clear to see. But now that I think of it, I'm remembering how scary it can feel to have the spotlight shine so brightly on you that you are blinded by it, standing out on that stage, vulnerable and alone, expected to perform for an audience that you can't see. Expected to perform for an audience that you can't see. Although I have always offered my sparks freely so that my loved ones could ignite their own fire, I never imagined that my life force, energy, might also have the power to burn. So what can we do about this conundrum Loving someone so much that you want them to have it all, but recognizing that it's only without you that they can see their own light? Well, we can remind ourselves that they have their very own life force, energy, and it has nothing to do with us. It emanates from within them, in the simmering heart of their soul.
Speaker 1:We can let go of hope and focus on living in the moment. Hope just tethers us to some future outcome or expectation or vision of what might be, and perpetuates the unsettling and false sense that we aren't doing enough or that we failed, that we're responsible for what happens. Look, there's no timeline or external force that can bring it forth, not even our undying support and unconditional love. It will ignite when it is ready, kindled by experience, kindled by self-reflection and connecting to what's important, to what's vital for them. So I ask you, where in your life might your energy be both illuminating and or overwhelming? And how can you hold space for others to find their own light. I'm Lisa Hopkins. Thanks so much for listening. Stay safe and healthy, everyone, and remember to live in the moment.
